The building, which is called Palazzo Spinola, was built in 1450 for Luciano Spinola and in the XVI century was rebuilt by Gerolamo Spinola. It is situated in the old square of Spinola family from Luccoli, in the XVIII century it was divided into a variety of residential units. In 1818 Gian Gerolamo Bansa buys it, then the ground floor level becomes St. Catherine way. In 1830 Tollot family buy it and then they give it up to Tito and Ferdinando Pignone in 1875; to them we owe the decorations of the breathtaking living room designed by Nicolo' Barabino (1885-1886) and the place equipped for the exercise of the ride in the '400 syle, achievable by an arcade behind the building. In 1909 the Italian Bank Society buy it and made there its headquarter. After the war damage in 1942, the Electric Laboratories of Genoa buy the building and rebuild the vaults of the piano nobile. In the recently renovated facade you can see two arches of the afflicted bracketed cornice and the fresco decoration of the XVI century, which documents the offset between the current plans and the original ones. In the palace, now the headquarters of Enel, the original staircase is visible from the first floor.
